Things get lost in back, shoes become a jumbled mess and items stacked in tall shelf spaces topple over easily or make it difficult to grab the bottom items. Make these big spaces smaller and more efficient by adding dividers into the drawers, designated shoe holders or extra shelving to break up the open shelf space. Make it a rule to stack no more than five items per shelf.
Options range from minimal use in a border, for example, to maximum use in floor to ceiling executions. And each implementation, of course, can be done in different materials, be it in a classic subway tile or multicolored mosaics. It’s good to think about resale value when making changes to a bathroom, especially because white and off‐white are the most popular color schemes in that room.
To make a bathroom appear larger, skip wall‐to‐wall cabinets and open up the space. A good way to do this is by building a bathroom counter or vanity that appears to float. Another way to get the look is by skipping the traditional cabinet vanity base and using a sofa table with open shelving below. Make sure the table is a minimum of 16 deep to fit your sink. Integrated sinks are built into, and of the same material, as the bathroom counter.
Paint your walls with the perfect shade you selected. It’s no longer necessary to choose gloss in a bathroom to combat moisture, ask the paint shop to add an additive to matte paint to keep it from mildewing. Do not just paint the walls, purchase an eggshell or semi gloss paint and paint the cabinets, too. There is a great variety of affordable lighting fixtures available.
