Older lighting fixtures and fluorescent lighting cast unattractive shadows and odd color hues on your skin. If changing a fixture is not possible, you can upgrade the bulb with some of the new fluorescent bulbs that are similar in color warmth to the light cast on a bright, sunny day. Once you’ve upgraded the lighting quality of your bathroom, paint is the next quick and easy upgrade to the bathroom. Pick light colors for large surfaces like the walls and save the darker, richer tones for accents.
Now serving as a bathroom vanity, this sewing table holds an antique machine as a decorative touch. A Murano vessel sink and long‐neck faucet add height to the vanity, while two drop‐leaf sides add extra surface space as needed. Take an old chest of drawers and add a sink, faucets and plumbing, and presto, you have a bathroom vanity. This antique pine bureau is now living a second life, with a curved overmount bowl that complements its soft lines. A cabinet is any box‐shaped piece of furniture with doors or drawers — in this case just the one door. This little rough‐and‐ready cabinet‐turned‐vanity adds a rustic touch to a soft and sweet country‐style bathroom.
